2003 Runway to
the Fashionable 4 |
| |
 |
| |
After
dominating the Fashion Power Index throughout the season,
Rutgers head coach Gary Waters styled his way to the title
of America’s best dressed. Waters burst onto the scene
while at Kent State, where he got national attention for
his “Shops in Paris” slogan.
Waters became the third coach to earn a spot in the
Fashionable 4 with two different programs. Bruiser Flint
turned the trick with UMass and Drexel and Jay Wright
accomplished the feat with Hofstra and Villanova.
The Assistant’s competition was marred with controversy,
after UW-Milwaukee’s Tony Jones and Tennessee’s Kerry
Keating finished in “tie.” Heavily favored Reggie Hanson
(Kentucky) finished ranked No. 3 in the FPI.
Fashionable Four (Head Coaches):
John Calipari (Memphis), Mike Jarvis (St. John's), Gary
Waters (Rutgers), Willis Wilson (Rice)
Fashionable Four (Assistants):
Reggie Hanson (Kentucky), Tony Jones (UW-Milwaukee), Kerry
Keating (Tennessee), Patrick Sellers (Central Connecticut
State)
Champions
Best-Dressed Head Coach: Gary Waters (Rutgers)
Best-Dressed Assistant: TIED; Tony Jones (UW-Milwaukee)
and Kerry Keating (Tennessee)
